From the Western Mail, February 18th 1910
Mr. Morgan Thomas presided at a meeting of the Cardiff Mental Hospital Committee on Thursday when Dr. R. V Stanford of Dudley, Worcestershire, was appointed pathological chemist at the mental hospital at a salary of £200 a year, with board and lodging.
Letter from the 28th September 1948
Dear Sir
In reply to your letter of the 25th instant it is confirmed that no further accounts will be forwarded in respect of your sister’s maintenance.
With the coming into force of the National Health Service Act on the 5th July she became a “Health Service” patient, and as such there will be no charge for her maintenance

Last year, 2008, was Whitchurch Hospital’s Centenary. We had a week of various events including an open day to view the exhibition in the main hall
Welcome to the WHHS. We are a small band of individuals who meet on a monthly basis with the aim of preserving and publishing information and artefacts relating to Whitchurch Hospital in Cardiff.
