Collecting oral histories from long-stay hospitals.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mvm uiP fsm\">Over the next three years the project will collect the oral histories of people who lived in six long stay hospital sites across Wales. We will also interview former staff and family members of those who lived there.<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"userContent\" data-ft=\"{&quot;tn&quot;:&quot;K&quot;}\">Do you know anyone who used to work in:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hensol<br \/>\nEly Hospital in Cardiff<br \/>\nLlanfrechfa Grange<br \/>\nSt David&#8217;s in Carmarthen<br \/>\nBryn-Y-Neuadd<br \/>\nDenbigh Hospital<\/p>\n<p>A new project aimed at collecting the stories of 80 individuals who lived in these long stay hospitals will begin shortly. The majority of these stories will be from people with a learning disability but we also want to interview former staff and family members of patients.<\/p>\n<p>These stories will be archived in St Fagan&#8217;s Museum and six regional exhibitions will be held based on interpretations of the stories over the next two and bit years.<\/p>\n<p>Also if anyone wants to volunteer for us as a researcher, photographer, exhibition assistant or anything else please contact us.<\/p>\n<p>These histories will be interpreted into six, temporary regional exhibitions held at Cardiff Story Museum,<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> Swansea Museum, Carmarthen Museum, Newport Museum, Gwynedd Museum and Wrexham Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"spotlight\" style=\"width: 533px; height: 755px;\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-xpa1\/t31.0-8\/s960x960\/10498638_658713517544612_5157605752865544658_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Please get in touch directly with Hidden Now Heard.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the project all the stories will be deposited in the archive at St Fagan&#8217;s, the Museum of Welsh Life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I heard about this project through twitter and thought it would be good to write a post about it.
